Defence Reviews: Past, Present and Future

Will Jessett retired from the MOD in 2019 after a 33-year career. His last role was as the department’s strategy director, in which he led work on the 2015 Strategic Defence and Security Review and the two follow-on reviews. He worked in a variety of policy, strategy and operational roles. He spent more than a third of his career living overseas (Namibia, Poland, Cyprus, USA).  He is now pursuing a second career, as a Partner at SC Strategy, advising overseas governments and commercial organisations on strategy and planning.  He is also a senior adviser to Newton Europe, operational improvement and cost reduction specialists, and has several academic affiliations.‍
