Mike Green was appointed the Chief Executive for Defence Infrastructure Organisation in April 2022.
Prior to this, Mike was Director General and Chief Operating Officer (COO), at the Department for Education (DfE), leading the Operations Group. As COO, he was a member of the DfE Board, Audit and Risk Committee and the department’s Leadership Team.
Mike joined DfE in 2012, his previous roles include:
• Director of Commercial, DfE
• Director of Capital, DfE
• Departmental lead for the response to Grenfell
Mike is a graduate of the Major Projects Leadership Academy (MPLA) at Saïd Business School, Oxford University.
Before joining the Civil Service, Mike was a Civil Engineer and spent his career in the private sector working for companies such as Boots.
